Over the past year, HEAL NH has worked with Ashland town officials, as well as community members, to support several projects designed to provide residents with more healthy eating choices and opportunities to get out and be physically active.

Since 2008, the Foundation for Healthy Communities has worked to create healthy environments in afterschool programs across the state. ACROSS NH received a $10,000 grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation to continue this work. 

A dynamic opening keynote address from John W. Bluford III set the tone for the Foundation for Healthy Communities’ forum dedicated to “Improving Health Outcomes Through Effective Engagement of Individuals and Communities.”

The New Hampshire Bicycle and Pedestrian Grant Program has awarded a total of $100,000 to six grantees to support bicycle and pedestrian transportation projects in New Hampshire. An anonymous donor makes this new 'bike-ped' grant program possible.
