We are pleased to announce that we have enlisted Erin Allgood, with Allgood Eats Local, who will serve as a consultant to provide support with HEAL healthy eating strategies. Specifically, she will conduct an inventory of healthy eating/food systems activities across the HEAL community network to identify priorities, existing resources, and gaps that need addressing.
From the inventory, she will develop a healthy eating priorities map outlining the interests of community coalitions and action plan to initiate and implement healthy eating projects to be shared with the network. Erin will also provide guidance with existing state-level HEAL projects.
Erin is a food systems consultant and principal at Allgood Eats Local, where she provides facilitation, project leadership, grant-writing, and capacity-building for food system initiatives and organizations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Wheaton College, a Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from UNH, and certificates in Leadership in Sustainable Food Systems and Sustainable Business, both from the University of Vermont. Her clients have included the Hillsborough County Conservation District, NH Association of Conservation Districts, NH Kids Count, and most recently, HEAL NH.
Erin's enthusiasm and dedication to building sustainable food systems crosses over into many different fields, and as such, she has served in many different roles related to the NH food system. She is the former project coordinator for the NH Food Alliance, has been a SNAP Committee member for Seacoast Eat Local for many years, and established the Food Education Network in 2012 with the mission of helping low-income families use fresh, local foods through education and cooking demonstrations. She also serves on the board of directors for the NH Farms Network. Additionally, Erin and her husband, Kevin Johnson, co-own Embers Bakery, a mobile wood-fired pizza and bread business.
Erin will be a valuable resource to the HEAL Home and our network partners. Please join us in welcoming her to our team.
