Dartmouth Hood Center for Children & Families identifies characteristics of the home, school, and community environments that influence physical activity levels and dietary patterns in adolescents and parents. Additionally, they are examining the prevalence of food brand placements in movies and the impact of TV food/beverage marketing on adolescents.
Center for Active Living & Healthy Communities was created by Plymouth State University to address health problems related to inactivity and sedentary lifestyles. The Center aims to enhance active living, health and wellness in New Hampshire’s North Country and Lakes Region through education, research and community partnerships. Through the PEARL Project the Center is examining the factors that influence rural-community residents’ physical-activity behaviors.
