Lean Works! Assess: Is my program working?

Assessing your obesity prevention and control program will provide you with information for decision making, ongoing program development and improvement.

In the previous stages-Plan, Build and Promote-you collected baseline data, identified measurable goals and objectives, and implemented the activities according to your activity action plan.

Keep in mind that a program assessment is not a one-time action but should be an ongoing activity. Your program should be evaluated at regular intervals in order to:

  • Evaluate whether or not the program was effective.
  • Determine whether or not goals and objectives were met.
  • Compare the effectiveness of different types of activities.
  • Discover what was successful and what needs to be improved.
  • dentify next steps and report results to your stakeholders.

Now it's time to:

  • Conduct a program evaluation
  • Calculate your return on investment

Tools for Assessment
